One of the classes that I struggled greatly with would be general psychology. I did excellent with adolescent and childhood, but general never worked for me. I went through a series of three professors until I was able to pass it. The first time I did not have a great interest in the course nor the motivation to do well. I ended up with withdrawing from the class. The second attempt was interesting needless to say. I had to withdraw from the course because I had trouble comprehending the teacher and relating to the material with him. The third attempt was at a community college in a night course, with a licensed psychologist, who used her everyday work experiences to relate the material. I ended up passing the course with an A. For me I needed the day to day experiences instead of the scientific facts and theories to apply and comprehend the information. I can say that it did not create enough interest though to take anymore psychology classes...

On Keeping A Notebook...
In some ways I agree with Didion on keeping a notebook in the aspect that it is for keeping in touch with yourself and remembering events. As for how someone would record the events can be interpreted in different ways, such as Didion with different stories than from what actually happened. That maybe her mental cue to an event that stimulates the memory, for me getting the most accurate account of events helps me to remember what happened. I do not keep a notebook but should as my life is ever changing and so many memorable moments are occurring. I think a person's notebook should be private and only for the intended reader such as the writer. I use Facebook but I do not put on all my daily events on there, nor do I put private personal memories on the web for everyone to see. A more personal way to remember important events throughout the year for me is to scrapbook with pictures. Pictures help me more accurately remember the event.

A Little About Myself...
My name is Christina Ledbetter and I am a junior at Washburn University majoring in Health Information Technology and Health Services Administration. This is only my second year at Washburn as I transferred in when I moved here and made a decision on what I wanted to do for the future. I previously was an early childhood major, so a lot of my credit hours will not apply to my degree.
At the end of September, my husband and I will be married for two years, together for a total of five! Crazy to think how fast time has gone by. This will be a busy semester for me, we are expecting our first daughter on October 14th! We finished up our nursery a few weeks ago, as he also started school this week. He is in his second year of the MBA program at Washburn.
In what spare time I have left from school I work, full-time. I am an assistant director at a child care center which is located across from Washburn. I completed the necessary requirements to become director qualified through my course work for early childhood. I truly have a passion for children and cannot wait to be a mother.
